Hello, my name is Marissa, I am a 20 year old college student studying Educational Assistant – Special Needs Support program at Niagara College. I currently work part time as a tutor for both Niagara College and Niagara Catholic District School Board. I am also a primary literacy volunteer tutor for the Learning Disability Association of Niagara Region. I have worked with children and youth of all different ages and needs, I also have three younger siblings (6, 9, &16). I have both professional and personal experience in child development, teaching, tutoring and education. I have a current clear Criminal Record Clearance, Vulnerable Sector Clearance. I hold a current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training Certificate with the Autism Spectrum Disorders Refresher, as well as current AODA training, Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention Training/ Violence in the Workplace Awareness Training, WHIMI Training, Worker Hand Safety Awareness Training and Accessibility Standards for Customer Service Training. I am an outgoing and friendly person. I love being around children, and have a passion for working with and teaching them. I have experience in working with children with special needs, exceptionalities, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental disabilities. I am creative and able to create educational lesions and activities that would be fun and enjoyable, as well as help with pre-existing academic work.
